Pouring Heritage, One Batch at a Time

Kilted Candles was born out of a desire to capture the rugged beauty and warm hospitality of the Scottish Highlands. Inspired by the legendary traditional tartan, we wanted to create something that feels deeply traditional yet matches the clean elegance of the modern home.

Every single candle is hand-poured in small, controlled batches using 100% natural coconut apricot wax, custom-blended botanical fragrance oils, and cotton wicks. While built around our signature combination of matte-black jars, gold metal lids, and gold foil labels, we also offer matte-white jars, silver labels, and a choice of premium lids to help you craft your own perfect combination.

The Four Pillars of Our Craftsmanship

Creating a clean-burning, intensely scented candle requires a balance of ancient natural ingredients and careful technical measures. We respect the process.

I

Coconut Apricot Wax

Sustainably sourced, biodegradable, and toxin-free coconut apricot wax ensures a slow, soot-free burn that is safe for your household.

II

Woven Cotton Wicks

Woven purely with cotton fibers and paper threads, lead-free wicks provide a stable, consistent flame and perfect wax pool.

III

Botanical Infusions

We select and use specific premium scents that reflect Scotland's changing seasons.

IV

Hand-Poured

Every candle is measured, mixed, poured, and inspected individually to guarantee consistency, scent throw, and visual perfection.

Frequently Asked Inquiries

Have questions about our wicks, wax formulation, or shipping? Read our top questions below, or browse our Full FAQs Page for detailed guides.

Our standard 9oz and 11oz candles offer a slow, even burn time of approximately 45 to 50 hours. To maximize this, always trim the cotton wick to 1/4 inch before each lighting, and allow the wax pool to reach the edge of the glass container during the first burn.
Coconut apricot wax is derived from natural coconuts and apricots, making it a completely renewable and biodegradable resource. Unlike paraffin wax (refined petroleum), it burns clean without releasing black soot, toxins, or carcinogens, and has a lower melting point, meaning your candle lasts longer.
Every single Kilted Candle is hand-poured in our studio located in Salisbury, North Carolina, USA. We source our natural wax from ethical farms and mix our scents locally, using custom formulations that are unique to our brand.
