Product & Fragrances
We use a custom, proprietary blend of 100% natural, clean-burning soy and coconut apricot waxes. This blend is completely paraffin-free, biodegradable, and renewable, ensuring an exceptionally clean burn and excellent fragrance throw.
Yes, absolutely. We source only premium, cosmetic-grade fragrance oils that are 100% phthalate-free, paraben-free, and compliant with all safety standards. They are safe to burn around family and pets.
Yes, all of our soy/coconut wax candles and melts are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We do not use beeswax or any other animal derivatives, and none of our raw ingredients are tested on animals.
Shipping & Scent Studio
Every single Kilted Candle and Wax Melt is hand-poured in small, artisan batches at our scent studio in Salisbury, North Carolina.
We currently ship nationwide across the United States. Shipping rates are calculated dynamically at checkout based on weight, with free or promotional flat-rate shipping offered periodically. For complete rates, please read our official Shipping & Returns Policy.
Orders are processed and packed in our studio within 1–3 business days. Once shipped via USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground, transit times typically range from 2–5 business days depending on your location.
Candle Care & Safety
Tunneling occurs when a candle burns down the middle, leaving a ring of hard wax on the sides. To prevent this, always ensure your **first burn** lasts at least **2 to 3 hours** (or until the liquid wax pool has completely reached all edges of the glass jar). This sets the wax "memory" for all future burns.
Trimming wicks keeps the flame controlled, prevents soot and smoke, and extends the overall life of your candle. Always trim your cotton wicks to **1/4 inch** before lighting your candle. Simply snip off the burnt tip using a wick trimmer or nail clippers.
Since we ship glass jars, transit damage occasionally happens. If any item arrives cracked or broken, please take a photo of the damaged product and its packaging and email it to info@kilted-candles.com. We will ship a free replacement immediately.
Once 1/2 inch of wax remains, pour warm water into the jar to float the remaining wax, pull out the metal wick tab, and wash with warm soap and water. The premium matte-black jars and gold metal lids make excellent desktop pen cups, kitchen spice jars, or storage containers.
