The story of Kilted Candles: translating the ancient legends, raw landscapes, and cozy crofts of Scotland into premium home fragrances.
Kilted Candles was born from a deep connection to the history, textiles, and legends of Scotland. The mist-shrouded peaks of Glencoe, the dry peat burning in remote stone crofts, and the deep green pine forests of the Cairngorms all carry a distinct olfactory memory.
Our goal is to bring that rich atmosphere into your home. Each fragrance is carefully chosen to recreate a physical sense of place—whether it is the crisp, linen freshness of a coastal highland breeze or the masculine, leather-and-smoke strength of a historic clan chief.
Unlike mass-produced candles that use machine pouring and petroleum-based paraffin wax, we stay committed to authentic, small-batch handcrafting.
We measure, melt, mix, and pour every candle by hand, allowing the wax to cure naturally. This meticulous process guarantees a smooth finish and a rich scent throw that lasts.
Kilted Candles is a family-owned artisan studio run by Maureen and James from their workspace in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Maureen leads the craft, carefully blending raw fragrance oils and pouring the melted wax pool into our signature matte-black and matte-white jars. James manages the business, packaging, and digital operations.
We are proud to share these heritage-inspired scents. We hope they bring warmth, comfort, and the rustic charm of the Scottish highlands to your home.
